Designers Michael Holzer and Stefan Bartel from the Austrian studio BARTEL / HOLZER have set up a BARTEL / HOLZER design office specializing in furniture design for European producers. Stefan Bartel studied visual design at the University of Art and Industrial Design in Linz and got to know the different perspectives in the furniture industry over the next 30 years: as an interior designer, seminar leader, lecturer and furniture designer. Michael Holzer studied Industrial Design and Graphic Design at the University of Art and Industrial Design in Linz and has been working as an independent designer ever since. For designers Michael and Stefan, design is exciting if it is bold and releases emotions. Their designs stand in the tension between contemporary and timelessly elegant form. The reduction to the essentials in combination with interesting details gives the products their own identity and unique characteristics. For the two designers it´s important to trigger emotions with their designs – because emotions are stimulating and create a bond.
